Movement is life!
As we age, it becomes more and more difficult to find pain-free movements. Many of us experience chronic joint pain, which over time becomes severe enough to reduce physical activity. Often our limited mobility, due to inflammation or previous injury, not only impacts our quality of life, but triggers a vicious cycle. Sedentary lifestyles lead to obesity and serious health conditions including diabetes, heart disease and depression. The fact remains: our bodies do not function well when we are static. We need physical activity to stay healthy. With physical exercise, we can keep our blood pressure low, increase our cardiovascular efficiency, and reduce body fat accumulation. Movement, as it turns out, really is about prolonging a healthy, vibrant life – it is what enables our bodies to operate in all their delicate, wondrous complexity.
